DANIEL GERR

Daniel Gerr was born in Yugoslavia in 1957. When he was young, he moved to Russia, and he started his art studies at the Kremlin Art Academy. In 1977 he immigrated to Israel. There, he attended to the Betzalel Academy of Art.

In his work, Gerr is inspired by ancient buildings that have been covered by signs and symbols of modern society. The artist explores in his works this juxtaposition and the way it affects the ever-evolving street scenes that develop, as modern day life goes on. He now lives in Jaffa.
